Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request are unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

In October, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
